Link Building Based on Relevance, Context and Risk

A backlink is not valuable simply because the referring domain has a high score in an SEO tool.

Easy Internet evaluates link opportunities based on the website itself, relevance to the business, editorial context, audience, market, language, outbound-link patterns and risk.

What We Look For

  • Relevance to the business and subject
  • A real publication or website with genuine content and audience
  • Editorial context that gives the mention a natural reason to exist
  • Pages created for readers rather than primarily for selling links
  • A natural mix of brand, URL, personal, product and descriptive anchor text
  • Relevance to the country and language being targeted
  • Transparent handling of paid or sponsored placements

Links and mentions are evaluated by relevance, context and risk. A site that exists mainly to sell links does not qualify.

DR and DA Are Research Metrics, Not Google Metrics

Domain Rating from Ahrefs and Domain Authority from Moz can help with initial research.

They are not Google metrics and should not make the decision by themselves.

A high-scoring domain can be part of a link network or have little meaningful audience. A site with a more modest metric can be the publication that the target industry actually reads.

We therefore also review organic visibility, relevant rankings, content quality, traffic patterns, topic consistency and outbound links.

Anchor Text Should Look Natural

A healthy backlink profile normally contains variety.

Editorial links may use a brand name, URL, person's name, product name or a descriptive phrase.

Aggressively repeating the same exact-match commercial anchor can create an unnatural pattern. We do not force every placement to use a target keyword.

International Link Building

An English-language backlink is not automatically relevant to the United States, the United Kingdom or another English-speaking market.

International authority work should reflect the actual country, industry and audience being targeted.

We evaluate publications and opportunities in the context of the market rather than treating every English-language website as equivalent.

Reporting and Transparency

For each placement, the client can understand the referring website, destination URL, type of placement, target market, language and the factors reviewed before the decision.

External placement costs, when they exist, are disclosed separately.

The objective is not to maximize a monthly link count. It is to build a backlink profile that makes sense for the business.
